BOOK TALK

​Goochland County Historical Society and Goochland County Parks and Recreation present a book talk and signing with Rita B. Dandridge. Ms. Dandridge has edited The Collected Essays of Josephine J. Turpin Washington. Josephine J. Turpin Washington was a newspaper journalist, teacher and social reformer whose work helps to draw attention to the continuing struggle for equality.

The event will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Central High Cultural and Educational Complex, 2748 Dogtown Rd, Goochland, VA 23063.



GENEALOGY CLASS 4

Join us on May 18, 2019 for our genealogy class on DNA, featuring guest speaker Paula Williams.

The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00 pm at the Goochland branch of the Pamunkey Regional Library. 3075 River Rd W, Goochland, VA 23063

THE MAGAZINE IS HERE!

​The 50th Anniversary edition of the Goochland County Historical Society Magazine has arrived. If you were a member in 2018, the magazine will be shipping out this week. If you were not a member in 2018, please stop in at the History Center or shop online in our gift shop for your copy of this special edition. The price is $10.00 per copy.



SPRING MEETING - HEBRON CHURCH

​Join us on April 7, 2019, 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Hebron Church for our Spring Meeting. Our guest speaker for the afternoon will be Juliana Grassia from the Menokin Foundation. She will be telling us about the unique preservation of Menokin, the circa 1769 home of Francis Lightfoot Lee, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Light refreshments will follow. The address of the Church is 1040 Shallow Well Road, Manakin-Sabot, VA 23103.
