Join us this Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Grace Church Parish House for Bustles, Bloomers & Big Sleeves: Fashion in the Gilded Age featuring museum consultant Colleen Callahan and living history interpreter Nancy Lowden. Together they will show us what it meant to “get dressed” in that era. The program, part of the Society’s exhibit Saved from the Ashes: Thorncliff in the Gilded Age, also details how historical garments are conserved. Program co-sponsored by the Southeastern Region, Costume Society of America. An English tea will follow the program.

Join us at the Grace Church Parish House on March 12, 2022 at 1:00 pm, for an afternoon with author Nancy C. Parrish. She will be featuring an illustrated talk on the “Americans’ Fascination with English Country Houses and Their Inhabitants.”
A reception will be held immediately after with refreshments and hot tea and you can get your copy of her book The Downton Era: Great Houses, Churchills, and Mitfords signed by the author.

The Goochland County Historical Society will be closed November 24, 25, and 26 so that our volunteers and staff may spend time with their families. We will reopen December 1 at 10:00 am.
